Laughlin of UALR threw a four-hit, complete game on Friday night to lead the Trojans to a 3-1 win over in state rival Arkansas State in the series opener. Laughlin allowed just four hits and a walk to the Indians, and retired 16 of the final 17 batters he faced (including 15 straight) en route to his team-leading sixth victory.
The Sapulpa, Oklahoma native retired the Indians in order in the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth innings. He finished with six strikeouts and faced just 32 batters on the night.
