Travis Wood (Bryant) had the best season. He split time between AA and AAA this season, compiling a 13-5 record with 135 strikeouts and 53 walks in 167.2 innings. Wood was drafted by Cincinnati in the 2nd round of the 2005 draft.
Others of note:
Brock Bond (Arkansas) batted .333 with 93 runs, 21 doubles, 33 RBI, 67 walks and 13 stolen bases in 122 games with the Connecticut Defenders (Eastern, AA) in the Giants organization.
Craig Gentry (Fort Smith/Arkansas) batted .303 with 100 runs, 21 doubles, 53 RBI, 49 walks and 49 stolen bases in 127 games with the Frisco RoughRiders (Texas, AA). He was called up by the Texas Rangers on September 1.
Steve Smith (Texarkana/OBU) spent most of the season with the Lake County Captains (South Atlantic League, A-) in the Indians organization. He went 2-3 with a 2.36 ERA and 26 saves in 47 games. He struck out 62 in 53.1 innings. Steve was promoted to the Kinston Indians (Carolina, A+) late in the season and pitched 0.2 scoreless innings over two games.
Aaron Terry (Rison/SAU) went 6-0 with a 2.08 ERA and 6 saves in 21 games with the Johnson City Cardinals (Appalachian League, R). He struck out 36 in 26 innings before being promoted to the Batavia Muckdogs (New York-Penn, SS-A) at the end of the season.
