Southern Arkansas catcher Brandon Choate (SR, 6-0, 205, Hooks, TX)
Choate is the second consecutive SAU honoree, taking home his first-ever award after leading the Muleriders’ offense in their 3-2 week. The senior was 6-for-15, hitting safely in all but one game, while slugging for a 1.200 percentage behind four homeruns. He also drove in nine RBI, scored five runs and drew four walks. The Hooks, TX native blasted two homers in a 10-9 win over William Carey and he capped the week with his final homerun and four RBI in a series-clinching, 14-4 triumph over Henderson State.
