Drinnen, a senior from Haysville, Kan., pitched a complete game shutout while striking out six and giving up just two hits, as the UALR Trojans (7-8) handed the No. 2-ranked Oklahoma Sooners (16-1) their first loss of the season in a 7-0 victory.
The Sooners entered the game as the only remaining NCAA Division I team without a loss, and came into the series leading the nation in batting average (.383), home runs (17) and runs per game (10.85). Drinnen’s complete game shutout against OU was UALR’s first of the season, while the win improves Drinnen's record to 2-1 on the year.
