Davis led the Bears to a series win against league-leader Texas State, going 6-for-13 in three games against the Bobcats. The freshman from Camden, Ark. (Fairview), went 4-for-6 with a pair of stolen bases on Saturday. He bunted over the first baseman's head and dove under a tag in the bottom of the 11th inning and the Bears won the game with the next batter. His three-run home run in the fourth inning on Sunday pushed the UCA lead to 8-3. He finished the game 3-for-5 with three runs scored and three RBI in the series clincher. In a non-conference game Tuesday against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, he was 2-for-3, scored three runs and stole a season-high three bases. He stole 5-of-6 stolen bases in the four games. Davis, who was 9-for-18 with seven runs and four RBI last week, ranks fourth in the Southland with a .378 batting average this season.
Honorable mention for pitcher of the week goes to Central Arkansas right hander Evan Cox.
