Justin Treece named Southland Hitter of the Week

Treece helped lead Central Arkansas to a three-game sweep of No. 16 Sam Houston State, hitting .364 (4-for-11) with four runs scored and three RBI against the Bearkats. The senior from Sherwood, Ark. (Sylvan Hills H.S.), started the week with a two-game set against Arkansas-Pine Bluff with six hits, including two doubles, and three RBI and three runs scored. He had multi-hit games in four of the Bears' five contests. Treece also reached base three times with walks and stole two bases. On the week, Treece hit .556 (10-for-18) with seven runs scored, six RBI and two doubles. Treece and the Bears picked up 18-12 and 13-1 wins over Arkansas-Pine Bluff and 9-7, 4-2 and 6-4 wins over Sam Houston.
