Arkansas State sophomore second baseman Joe Schrimpf has been named the Sun Belt Conference’s Player of the Week for his outstanding performance this past week the league office announced Tuesday.
Schrimpf had a fantastic weekend at the plate as he hit .412 over the past week and led the team with a .765 slugging percentage. He had a team-high 13 total bases and was tied for the team lead in RBIs with seven over the four games. He was also stellar in the field with 20 assists and 10 putouts with no errors during the nomination period which saw A-State go a perfect 4-0.
