Lee, just a sophomore, struck out eight batters in 6.2 innings to help ASU to the series win in a April 4 decisive game three against WKU in which the Red Wolves won 3-1. Lee held the Hilltoppers, who came into the series averaging 9.5 runs per game, to a single run in the Sunday finale, surrendering just five hits - all singles - along the way.
After giving up three hits and walking in a run in the first three innings, Lee settled in and retired the next 12 batters he faced to put the Red Wolves in position to earn the win. He threw a career-high 122 pitches and held the Hilltoppers to a .222 batting average.
