The 6-foot-3, 210-pound senior right-handed pitcher and shortstop posted a 9-2 record on the mound along with a 0.70 ERA, leading the Lions to the Class 6A state final. A 2010 Aflac All-American and the 2010 Connie Mack World Series MVP, Howard struck out 120 batters in 64.2 innings for Searcy this past season while batting .370 with four home runs and 23 RBIs.
Howard has signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball on scholarship at the University of Arkansas this fall, but is projected as an early round selection in this month’s Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.
