Matthew Lillard of Hendrix named SAA Baseball Player of the Week



SAA Baseball Player of the Week - Matthew Lillard of Hendrix
Junior right fielder Matthew Lillard (pictured at right) hit .667 (8-for-12) with six runs, six RBI, two doubles and two home runs as the Warriors went 3-0 on the week. In Wednesday's 8-7 win against Ozarks, the Dallas native went 2-for-4, including a double and home run, with three RBI. Lillard was 3-for-4 with a double, RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 14-3 win at Oglethorpe. He capped the week by going 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI and a solo home run in a 10-8 victory over the Petrels. For the week, Lillard had a .714 on-base percentage and 1.333 slugging percentage.

The SAA announced the baseball Players of the Week for games played March 6 - 12 and Hendrix teammates swept the awards with Drew Judson earning Player of the Week and Colin Brown capturing Pitcher of the Week.

Seven Hendrix Players Named to All-SAA Baseball Teams



The Hendrix College baseball team had seven players named to the All-Southern Athletic Association Teams on Friday. Sophomore Drew Judson was a First Team selection, seniors Daniel Imbro and Will Nichol, junior Wyatt Hogan and freshmen Tanner Cooper and Jorge Leon were named to the Second Team and sophomore Justin Robison was an Honorable Mention.

Harley Faye of Hendrix named SAA Pitcher of the Week



SAA Baseball Pitcher of the Week - Harley Faye of Hendrix
Junior pitcher Harley Faye went 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA and 10 strikeouts over 10 innings for the Warriors. Faye, from Studio City, Calif., started Tuesday's game against NCAA Division II member Henderson State and only allowed a walk and struck out two over two scoreless innings. He recorded eight strikeouts and allowed eight hits, an unearned run and two walks in Friday's 3-2 win at Sewanee.

Imbro Named SAA Pitcher of the Week


The senior right-handed starter threw a one-hit, complete game shutout in the Warriors' 7-0 win over North Park Saturday. Imbro, from Little Rock, Ark., struck out two and only faced two batters over the minimum. He threw 90 pitches in the first complete game shutout effort of his career.

Justin Robison named SAA Player of the Week


SAA Baseball Player of the Week - Justin Robison of Hendrix
Sophomore catcher Justin Robison (pictured at tright) hit .462 (6-of-13) for the week, with two runs scored, five RBI, a home run and a stolen base. He started the week off by going 2-for-2 with a walk and a steal at Ozarks on Wednesday. In the first game against #7 Rhodes on Saturday he had a single, then went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, two runs scored and four RBI in game two's 12-8 win. Robison, from Rockwall, Texas, drove in a run with a base hit in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Lynx, helping the Warriors take the series. He was also caught two runners trying to steal out of five (40 percent). For the week, Robison had a .500 on-base percentage and a .692 slugging.

Ryan Ritz of Hendrix named SAA Player of the Week


SAA Baseball Player of the Week - Ryan Ritz of Hendrix
Senior center fielder Ryan Ritz hit .529 to lead the Warriors to a 3-1 start to the 2015 season. The Dallas product recorded a hit in all four contests, starting with a pair of singles, a walk and a stolen base in Tuesday's 5-1 win at NCAA Division II power Harding. He followed with a RBI-double and a run scored in a 3-1 victory against Carleton Friday. Ritz managed a pair of singles in Saturday's game against Hardin-Simmons, then he wrapped up the week with a 4-for-5 performance with three runs scored in a 9-2 win against UT Dallas. Ritz also recorded a .556 on-base percentage and slugged .588.

Curry Named UALR Head Baseball Coach


UALR Director of Athletics Chris Peterson has announced the hiring of Little Rock native Chris Curry as head baseball coach. A veteran of seven years as a catcher in professional baseball with the Chicago Cubs and San Francisco Giants organizations, Curry recently completed his second year as top assistant and pitching coach at Northwestern State and previously worked on the baseball staffs at Arkansas, Arkansas Tech, Hendrix and Meridian Community College.

Collin Radack picks up multiple awards

Hendrix College senior center fielder Collin Radack earned another All-American award on Friday. He was selected to the ABCA/Rawlings All-America Second Team as well as the All-America Gold Glove Team a day after being selected to the D3Baseball.com All-America Third Team.

Collin Radack named SAA Player of the Year


A senior outfielder from Austin, Texas, Collin Radack has enjoyed a stellar career that includes being a three-time All-Conference First Team selection prior to his appointment as SAA Player of the Year in his senior campaign. Radack made the decision easy on the voters by topping the league and the nation in several major statistical categories. Heading into postseason play, Radack ranked 1st nationally in runs scored and stolen bases, 2nd overall in hits and 9th in total bases. In conference play, Radack demonstrated his dominance by leading the league in both batting average and on-base percentage. In the field, the senior cemented his status as an all-around threat by making nary an error from his centerfield position all season long.

SAA Players of the Week



SAA Baseball Player of the Week - Collin Radack of Hendrix
Hendrix senior Collin Radack (pictured at right) hit .583 (7-for-12) with 8 runs scored, two RBI and six steals in the Warriors' three-game series with Centre. The Austin, Texas native helped Hendrix win two of the three games with a .583 slugging percentage and .643 on-base percentage out of the leadoff spot. Radack also was perfect in the field in 11 chances, including throwing a runner out at home from center field.

Other notable performances from around the league:
Hendrix sophomore starter Will Nichol limited Centre to just six hits, one run and one walk in Saturday's 2-1 complete game victory. The Dallas product struck out four in seven innings for his first win of the season.
