Fayetteville will get a chance to make history.

The Purple Dogs advanced to its fourth consecutive state championship game with a 10-3, comefrom-behind clobbering of Little Rock Catholic in the semifinals of the Class 7A State Tournament Tuesday at Bulldog Field. Only one team (Pine Bluff from 1983-86) in the state's history has won four state titles in a row. Now Fayetteville has earned a shot to tie that mark with it's second whipping of Catholic in a month. The Purple Dogs demolished the Rockets 22-4 April 4. Despite falling behind early, Fayetteville raced ahead and coasted to victory Tuesday.
