The Warriors (22-21) will begin play in the NCAA's Division III Oregon Regional with a Wednesday game against Pomona-Pitzer (Calif.) at Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore. They will represent the SCAC as its automatic qualifier after beating Trinity (Texas) 11-1 in the conference championship game April 25.
Gnat and the three other holdovers from 2006 can say they played on one of the worst Division III teams in the nation as freshmen. But baseball at the small liberal arts college in Conway with an enrollment of about 1,100 had been on a decade-long skid since making the SCAC Tournament in 1999. Hendrix went 28-142 from 200-2008 before going 10-10 in 2009.
