LHP Ziggie Vanderwall, Southern Arkansas: Vanderwall made his first career start a mem-orable one as he racked up a school record 17 strikeouts over 7 1/3 innings during a 4-3 win over LSU-Shreveport. At one point, he retired 16 consecutive hitters.
