Pitcher of the Week: Blake Brodie, UA Fort Smith

Brodie allowed two runs -- none earned -- on six hits, walked two and struck out a career-high 12 batters over seven complete innings to lead the Lions to a 3-2 win against Newman University in the opening game of this past week's three-game series. Brodie struck out all but one of the batters he faced at least once, three twice and one three times before giving way to the Lions' bullpen after seven innings ahead 3-2. Brodie and two Lions relievers combined to strike out a season-high 17 batters.
