Arkansas Tech, Southern Arkansas and Arkansas-Monticello earn regional bids
The NCAA Division II Baseball Committee has selected the 48 teams that will participate in the 2014 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship. Three from the Great American Conference - Arkansas Tech, Southern Arkansas and Arkansas-Monticello earned bids for the Central Regional. The Wonder Boys earned the top seed and will host in Russellville, Arkansas.
Arkansas Tech set school records with 42 wins and a record 22-game winning streak, and won its first outright regular-season conference title since the 1992 season.
The Muleriders, tournament champions of the Great American Conference for the third consecutive year, earned the league's automatic bid. This selection marks the Muleriders' seventh-straight appearance in a NCAA Regional Tournament.
The Boll Weevils qualified for the program's first ever regional tournament after finishing second to Arkansas Tech in the GAC regular-season standings and taking runner-up at last week's GAC Championship to Southern Arkansas.
