Jeff Forgerson and Wheeler Gnat earn SCAC Awards

SCAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK Games of March 23 – March 29

JEFF FORGERSON OF HENDRIX COLLEGE, a 6-3, 210-pound sophomore infielder from Simi Valley, Calif., has been named the SCAC Offensive Baseball Player-of-the-Week for games played Monday, March 23 through Sunday, March29.
Forgerson hit .529 (9-17) at the plate that included seven RBI, two doubles, and three home runs. He tallied 20 total bases and posted a 1.176 slugging percentage to go a long with his .556 on-base percentage (1.732 OPS) in leading the Warriors to its first SCAC series win this year. With his three home runs, Forgerson established a new Hendrix single-season record with eight home runs.


SCAC PITCHER OF THE WEEK Games of March 23 – March 29
WHEELER GNAT OF HENDRIX COLLEGE, a 6-2, 185-pound senior right-hander from Cedar Park, Texas has been selected SCAC Baseball Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 23 through Sunday, March 29. Gnat picked up a win and a save in three appearances during the week. He gave up just one earned run, six hits, two walks and struck out eight batters over 6.2 innings for a 1.35 ERA. Gnat stifled a late Trinity rally after entering with runners on second and third and nobody out in the seventh innings Sunday. He struck out the side in the eight before earning the save an inning later.
