PINE BLUFF, Ark., (AP) — The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff has raised $1.34 million so far in the first phase of its effort to build a $9 million baseball complex.
The donations include $500,000 from Pine Bluff native and Los Angeles Angels outfield Torii Hunter.
The complex will be named for Hunter.
Construction on the first phase includes a baseball field that's to be ready in time for the spring baseball season.
The overall project includes an indoor training facility, a baseball field and stadium and a softball field that can also be used for Little League baseball tournaments.
