Henderson State third baseman Brittain Diamond (JR, 6-3, 205, Sulphur Springs, TX)
Diamond is the first HSU award winner since 2008. The junior hit safely in all four of the Reddies’ contests versus Top 30 teams. The Sulphur Springs, TX native went 10-for-14 for a .714 average and also slugged for a 1.286 percentage. He started the week in grand fashion, going 3-for-4 with one double and a grand slam versus No. 27 Southeastern Oklahoma State. He followed with four more RBI in Game Two, behind two more doubles. Diamond opened a rain-shortened, two-game set versus No. 29 Delta State with a 4-for-4 effort in the first contest.
