Southern Arkansas starting pitcher Doug Shields (JR, 6-1, 160, Mesquite, TX)
Shields records his second accolade in three weeks after commanding the mound in a 9-1 win over Arkansas-Monticello. The junior posted his sixth win of the season, going six innings with 10 strikeouts and allowing just two hits. The Mesquite, TX native faced just three batters over his minimum and retired 10 consecutive batters from the second to fifth innings.
